Project Highlights

The Barrow Tank Farm project in Utqiaġvik, Alaska, was undertaken to ensure the community’s fuel storage infrastructure could meet both current and future demands. Despite the remote location’s logistical challenges, the project was executed with precision to support the annual fuel delivery schedule, resulting in a reliable, expanded fuel capacity for this North Slope community.

  • Safely decommissioned and demolished four aging tanks, including removal of associated piping and structural supports.
  • Performed comprehensive civil work for new tank installations, including site grading, installation of fuel containment liners, construction of containment berms, and placement of concrete tank foundations.
  • Installed six new 415,000-gallon fuel tanks, equipped with advanced level detection systems to enhance safety and monitoring capabilities.
  • Integrated new mechanical piping systems with existing infrastructure for seamless operation.
  • Strategically scheduled construction to maintain uninterrupted fuel supply during Utqiaġvik’s annual delivery window.
