Built on Accountability
We believe that safety is everyone’s responsibility. From senior leadership to every team member in the field, we share an obligation to protect the health, safety, and well-being of our people and the communities where we work.
This shared accountability starts with the individual. Each team member has a duty to work safely—not just for themselves, but for those around them. We hold one another to the highest standards of safe work practices and support a culture of personal responsibility that empowers our employees to recognize hazards and prevent incidents.
ASRC Construction provides occupational health and safety programs and training designed to foster a safe work environment. Our dedicated team of safety professionals continually evaluates and improves our practices to best support our construction personnel—adapting to the unique demands of each project while prioritizing the well-being of our people.
We take pride in our strong safety performance and remain vigilant in preserving it. Our Zero Incident culture reflects this commitment.
The Cornerstones of Our Zero Incident Culture
Hazard Recognition & Safety Observation Program
At ASRC Construction, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our team members and partners. Our proactive, behavior-based Hazard Recognition & Safety Observation Program is a testament to our commitment to worker safety and protection. This robust program empowers employees and subcontractors to report unsafe acts, conditions, and near misses, ensuring immediate notification to the project team and HSE department. This rapid intervention capability allows us to address potential hazards swiftly, maintaining a safe work environment. Every submission is thoroughly reviewed by our HSE department and the ASRC Construction Safety Committee, reinforcing our dedication to safety excellence.
Umialik Safety Awards Program
Reflecting the traditions of our Iñupiaq shareholders, the Umialik Safety Awards honor individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to safety, leadership, and teamwork. “Umialik” means whaling boat captain in Iñupiaq, and this award is named in recognition of the leadership and dedication required for a safe, successful hunt. Each quarter and annually, we recognize employees, projects, and companies that exemplify these traits with the Umialik Safety Awards. The awards are announced during the ASRC Construction Field Leadership training sessions, celebrating those who lead by example and contribute to our culture of safety.
