Project Highlights

In one of the northernmost commercial aviation hubs in the U.S., Alaska Airlines needed a more resilient apron to withstand Arctic conditions and support growing operations. Our team delivered a comprehensive reconstruction project, expanding available aircraft maneuvering space while enhancing safety and long-term durability. The project balanced operational continuity, permafrost sensitivity, and strict environmental regulations.

  • Extended the concrete hardstand to increase capacity and improve aircraft circulation space.
  • Replaced deteriorated asphalt and concrete apron sections to restore performance.
  • Installed insulation and fuel liner systems to protect permafrost and underlying soils.
  • Safely removed, containerized, and shipped 656 cubic yards of PFAS-contaminated gravel for offsite disposal.
  • Delivered a durable, environmentally responsible airfield infrastructure upgrade.
